Why we chose to represent those certain social groups

Being of the same age group as the son, we believed we were bound to represent teenagers and young adults as we know and relate to them the most. Some things we showed were things we've seen teenagers of our time go through. Family pressure, single-parent families, and their effect on the child. The social groups we chose to represent were mainly ones I wanted to represent, as taking sociology really did intrigue me and gave me some guidance on which social groups we could properly represent without adding in too many fake stereotypes.
